Every year, on the penultimate Sunday of August, the village of Ceriana hosts the Sausage Festival, an unmissable gastronomic event. The four historic local Confraternities compete to prepare the best recipe for Ceriana Sausage, a typical product considered among the 20 best sausages in Italy, made by the village butchers according to ancient traditions.
This year, the festival will be held on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 August, attracting visitors from all over Italy and beyond. Participating in the festival is an excellent opportunity to taste local specialties, immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere of the village and discover the wonderful landscapes of the area.
Serianasca Sausage
Cerianasca Sausage is a second course made exclusively with Ceriana sausage, also known as “Sousissa Serianasca”. This pure pork sausage is prepared according to ancient secret recipes, jealously passed down from generation to generation by the people of Ceriana. During the event, you can taste various specialties, such as sausage with Taggiasca olives, with porcini mushrooms and much more. In addition to sausage, there are also other typical Ligurian dishes, such as focaccia, farinata and savory pies.
